In this piece students document five different body parts in four different types of light. For example they might choose knee, forearm, palm, cheek and stomach. They consider all five body parts in "normal" light, bright light, and low light as well as "inner light", or the color emanating from beneath the surface of their skin. They paint a small swatch representing each color they see.
The result is a wall of swatches representing an incredible rainbow. Students are shocked to discover that they are blue, green, violet and orange.
